STEM Activities and Competitions

Name an Asteroid! Go to http://spacegeneration.org/index.php/projects/neo-working-group?id=851.  Develop a name and write in 50 words or less why you want to name an asteroid.  Two categories, under 18 and over 18.  Name must be submitted by November 30, 2013.


Exploravision is an invention competition where everyone who enters gets recognized with prizes.  Students work in teams of 2, 3, or 4 people and design an invention that will be developed in the next 20 years.  To enter, you write a report describing your invention, how it will work, what is needed for the invention to be developed, and the history of similar inventions.  You do not need to build a model or develop a webpage.  Examples of past winners of the competition can be found at exploravision.org.  I hope to be coaching some teams from Scofield.  Let me know if you are interested.
