Puffer Hikes the Fall Trails

Puffer has been hiking, enjoying the outdoors. As the trees get ready for winter, the green chlorophyll in the leaves begin to disappear, leaving the yellow and orange colors. Some trees, like maples, have extra sugars that turn red and purple.  The result is the colors of autumn.

Geology Views at Greenwich Audubon

Baldy went on a 3 mile hike at Greenwich Audubon today.  Here is what he learned:

Let's head south east.

Look at my wing span!

Is the Center close?
Can you tell me how all these stones got here?

There are many stone walls here.

Starting BodyWorks

Great teamwork!

We started our new unit this week - Bodyworks.   Students drew and labeled the major organs of their body as a pre-assessment.  It was difficult deciding how to fit the 3-D body onto a 2-D piece of paper.

Puffy does Community Service

Science is everywhere, and our new traveling friend visited Cove Beach this weekend to help with the Soundwaters Beach clean-up.  Did anyone else get to the beach?

Even though Puffy arrived late, he still found some wrappers
